Honoring The Babies We Never Met

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month.

In a world that downplays the value of life and considers babies inside the womb worthless, it is incredibly important for us to remember just how precious each life is.

I believe that life begins at conception. Each baby, no matter how tiny, is a life that deserves to be honored. These little ones who went to Heaven before we ever really got to know them were created with as much of a purpose as you and I. Before time began, their Creator knew they would exist and fulfill a purpose in this world that is sometimes only known to Him.

My family has lost several babies, and we can’t wait to meet them someday. We think about them often and yes, we grieve having lost them.

In honor and memory of each baby who has been lost, I have created a few designs centered around remembering their lives.

Heaven’s Blessings

Tiny footsteps never heard,
Little fingers we’ll never hold,
The precious babies we’ll never meet,
Until we worship at Jesus’ feet,

Seeing them take their first step,
Holding them fast through the night,
Longing to see them and hear their cry,
To calm their fears with a soft lullaby,

Knowing that these are joys never granted us,
In this earthly world below,
Our little Blessings went to Heaven early,
Safe at last from this world’s weary journey,

Feeling the pain of losing them,
Little ones we’ve never seen,
How can it hurt our hearts so,
Learning to trust Him and let them go?

Wondering if the pain will ever leave,
Praying for His peace as we weep and grieve,
Trusting that beauty will come by and by,
For God’s grace all-sufficient will be our supply,

To everything there is a time,
And a purpose all-divine,
Our Father knew ’twas best,
To take them Home to His perfect rest,

Heaven’s beauty looks sweeter,
With each day that passes by,
Heaven’s Blessings there are waiting,
For us to join in eternal praising.
