Armed Forces Day

Things are getting crazy for me around here with the Forever We’ll Remember countdown getting ready to start on Monday, but I wanted to recognize Armed Forces day today.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a special place in my heart for our military. They always have and always will hold a dear place in my heart. Maybe the reason is that from the time my siblings and I were born, my parents instilled in us a respect and admiration for those who serve us selflessly. Whenever we saw a service member in uniform, my parents would always take my siblings and I over to them and have us look them in the eye, shake their hand, and tell them thank you for serving.

I definitely was not going to just let Armed Forces day pass without posting on it. Honor where honor is due. If there is anyone in our country who deserves our honor, it is those serving in our armed forces.

Take time today to tell someone serving in the Armed Forces, thank you! It doesn’t have to be some profound speech that you give them. Just shake their hand, tell them thank you and that you appreciate their service! Our heroes should never feel like they aren’t appreciated or that their sacrifices are for naught, because without them America would be in a dire straight. So take time today to seek out someone in our military and tell them thank you.
