The Liebster Award

I haven’t done a tag in a while now, so when Katja nominated me for this one recently I decided to do it. Plus her questions looked really fun.

(Thank you, Kats!)

What’s your favorite cold summer treat?

Homemade ice cream is the first thing that comes to mind for me. Every Independence Day my family makes homemade ice cream, and it is to die for. I am typically a chocolate ice cream type of girl, but with homemade ice cream, vanilla is killer. Don’t get me wrong, I love chocolate homemade ice cream too, but there is just something so delicious about good old fashioned vanilla ice cream.

What’s one classic you really want to read and haven’t yet?

Hmmm, good question. I guess I would have to say Pride and Prejudice? I have heard mixed reports on that one though, so I have been holding back on it.

What are your top 10 favorite names?

How am I supposed to only pick ten? That’s impossible. But I shall attempt to.

Ethan

Leola

What’s one stereotypical summery thing to do that you don’t like doing?

I am not sure if this one counts, but it was all I could think of. I don’t like pretty much anything that has crowds—which seems to happen a lot in the summer. So if it’s highly crowded, you can count me out. I am a small town/country type person. Crowds stress me out.

This is your opportunity to rant about your fav book, movie, or TV show—or all three. I HEREBY OFFICIALLY GRANT YOU PERMISSION.

Wow, official permission to rant about a book? It could be dangerous to give me this opportunity.

Favorite book…

That is an impossible choice. However, one of my all time favorites is Jacob Deshazer: Forgive Your Enemies. For starters, it’s a true story, which automatically makes it a bonus. Plus it reads like fiction—yet another bonus. And it’s about one of the Doolittle raiders who was captured.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love anything World War Two. So it seems a natural choice that this particular book is at the top of my favorites list. His incredible transformation after being saved was truly amazing. Then after the war, when he chose to forgive those who had tortured and starved him… That is a powerful testimony that Jesus changes lives and gives power over sin, hate, and death.

What word(s) do you misspell the most?

Definitely. I don’t know why my mind refuses to spell it the way it is supposed to, but it does. What’s crazy is that I know how to spell it. My fingers just refuse to listen to me when I am telling them how to spell it.

Where do you take walks to this summer?

I love to walk pretty much anywhere. Especially if it involves pretty sunsets, winding creeks, and prairie grass.

What music are you listening to on repeat right now?

Ok, I have two that fall into this category. So I am going to take the liberty of listing both.

  1. I’m Not Going To Hell
  2. God Will Defend The Right

Yes, my family gets tired of me playing them over and over, so I end up having to play them when no-one is around, or use earbuds.

Is there a book you really wanted to read this year? Have you and if not, WHEN WILL YOU?

Absolutely! I had been wanting to read Preacher On The Run for ages! Then I finally broke down and bought it this year. It was well worth my money!!

There was some things about it that I could’ve done without, but for the most part I really enjoyed it.

Tell me about a new outfit you’ve created and loved.

Recently I got hit with an inspiration for an outfit heavily inspired by a character in one of my future WIPs. Think very woodsy, outdoors, fantasy inspired. The colors center around earth tones—deep browns, olive greens, and beige. I added leather accessories to blend it all together. Leather fits this character perfectly! I was super excited when I pulled it together. My sister is familiar with who this particular character is, and she knew immediately that it was inspired by them.

How do you like your hamburgers?

I don’t mind a little pink in my burger, but definitely not a lot. Especially if it’s beef bought in a grocery store, and I don’t know where it came from.

Then add all the fixings on top! There isn’t much that can beat a good hamburger.

For my nominations, I am going to leave this tag open to anyone who wants to do it. And just use Katja’s questions again! Here is a clean list for anyone who wants to do it.
