5 Ways To Support Your Favorite Blogs

Maybe you love reading, and just found a blog that shares reviews of books you’re interested in. Maybe the thrill of testing out your culinary skills has landed you on a blog all about cooking, and you absolutely love all they have to offer. Maybe you’re a fashion enthusiast who just discovered the fashion blog to end all fashion blogs.

You want to support your favorite blogs all you can, but you just aren’t sure how. This post is specifically for you! Here are the top five ways you can support and encourage the blogs you love.

1. Interact

Interaction with followers is the best part of blogging. Bloggers always love hearing from their followers. You are, after all, the reason they blog in the first place.

One way that you can support and encourage your favorite blogger is by interacting with them. Comment on the posts you love, and share what your thoughts are. Reach out through their contact page and let them know what you would love to see them do a post about in the future. Or even just tell them you appreciate what they are doing. If they are conducting a poll on a certain topic, consider participating. Take part in giveaways and other activities.

2. Follow

This one may be obvious, but it really is one of the top ways you can support your favorite blogs.

By following them, you are letting the people behind the blog know that you find their content worth reading. You are encouraging them to keep doing what they are doing.

It’s a hard-knock journey as a blogger. Being able to find the group of people who share their passion for topics discussed on the blog is the greatest reward for the blogger.

3. Share

One thing that every blogger has to fight on a daily basis is “the algorithm”.

It’s a dirty word in the world of blogging. You see, for many christian bloggers trying to offer godly material for believers to read, it is an uphill battle to fight the algorithm.

There are thousands of secular blogs on the internet that have gobs of followers and are at the top of the algorithm. They are the blogs that pop up first when someone searches google for any given topic. Unfortunately, most of them are also the blogs that are secular and worldly.

That is why one of the most important ways you can support your favorite blogs and encourage their writers is by sharing posts with everyone you know.

You would absolutely make any bloggers day by sharing the link to their blog on your social media. Text or email a link to your friends. Share it on Pinterest.

It takes only a moment to do so, and by doing it you’re helping support your favorite blogs. You could very well be the secret weapon that helps them beat the vicious beast we call “the algorithm”.

4. Visit

You may not realize just how important your visits to your favorite blog are. We already mentioned the algorithm previously. But this goes back to it as well.

The more you visit your favorite blogs, they higher up they move in the algorithm.

Not to mention, bloggers love to know that someone is enjoying their content and is finding it valuable!

5. Give Feedback

If you never let your favorite blogs know what type of posts you would like to see more of, how will they know how best to serve you?

You see, bloggers are a lot of things, but they aren’t mind readers. They love hearing from subscribers with ideas for future content. They want to know what you enjoy the most.

What are ways you love to show support for your favorite blogs? Let me know in the comments! And be sure to go find a way to make a blogger’s day!

  1. Wonderful post!!!!!!! And it is SO important to remember!!!!!! I know I often am discouraged when I don’t get as many page views as I’d like (or likes or comments or whatever the engagement I’m looking for…….)

With your suggestion on number 4, I would add to make sure you actually VISIT the site, not just open it in the WordPress notifications because that doesn’t always get counted as a pageview. I find it so irritating when I get onto my stats page and see 0 pageviews, 0 visitors, 3 likes or whatever because it’s like CLEARLY someone was looking at my blog!!!!!

And this post also makes me feel good about myself since I think your blog is the one I interact with most often/most consistently. I usually end up sending your posts to my sisters since we all LOVE what you write about (especially the history and patriotism content!!!!!).

    • Yes, you’re right about making sure to actually visit the site! I hadn’t contemplated that, but it is very true.
I know life sometimes gets busy, so this post was as much a reminder to myself as to anyone else. ๐Ÿ˜…

Aww, that makes me happy that you and your sisters enjoy the history posts! Thank you for all your encouragement and support! โค
