One Year Blogiversary!

Can you believe that it’s been a year since I started my blogging journey? I look back and I don’t know where time has gone. If you had asked me about a year and a half ago, if I ever saw myself becoming a blogger, I would’ve spit my teeth out. No. Blogging was never on my radar—that is, until the Lord started to work.

I remember how incredibly timid and shy I was in those very first blog posts—posts that I would be okay disposing of. But then, would I really? They are reminders of how far the Lord has brought me, and how much He has taught me. No, on second thought, I think I’ll hang on to those very first posts. They are a piece of this journey, no matter how bumpy.

But what is my purpose in blogging? Is it just to find another excuse to craft words into beautiful sentences, painting pictures on the canvas of the mind? Yes. You can’t expect me to say that isn’t true, can you? I mean, I’m a writer. It’s what I do for fun.

Being serious though, what is it I’m seeking to accomplish in blogging?

I want to inspire people to study history—to see the beauty within the storms that time has brought down through the ages. To remember the things of the past. To teach truth and goodness to generations that may or may not have ever heard it before. To be a light to the lost. To take all of you with me on my journey Seeking The Timeless Anchor through the storms of history.

All of these things are why I blog; why I spend countless nights, banging my head against my desk, because blogging is exhausting and I’m convinced I will never survive. It’s what makes me keep going. It’s what makes me go grab that umpteenth mug of coffee, take a breath, and pour my entire being into writing something that may or may not be a hit; something that may or may not even be noticed in my small corner of the internet.

It’s my mission: to point the spotlight of history on Jesus Christ—The Timeless Anchor.

It’s been so incredible for me to see how the Lord has brought in new subscribers and renewed my energy when it was pretty much gone. That’s why I am asking each of you a favor.

Will you take the time to share with me how you found me and why you decided to subscribe? I would truly be honored if you would. So many of you come from different walks of life, and I’d love to know what made you decide to subscribe and follow my journey. Thank you in advance. You’re awesome!

(Because I know how crazy technology can be sometimes, if the form down below doesn’t want to work for you for some reason, you can use my contact page instead.)

Okay, now that we’ve settled the fact that you’re downright awesome, we can go forward with the rest of the post. I was pondering what to do for a One Year Blogiversary and decided to take a look back at some of my most popular posts.

Here are the top five!

Heroes Never Die// Forever We’ll Remember

This one was one of my absolute favorites. Memorial Day has always been one of my favorite days of the year. It’s such a special time to honor and remember our heroes. To reflect on the freedom that has been granted us at the cost of their lives. They are forever my heroes, and I will always strive to honor their memory and live a life worthy of their sacrifice. Putting together this video in their honor was a privilege for me.

Feminism vs Biblical Femininity

Looking back on this one, I remember how I was celebrating the historic Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v Wade. That was such an exciting time! But it also brought out the topic of being a biblical woman instead of a worldly woman. The mindsets are so very different from each other.

Why I Don’t Celebrate Halloween And Why You Shouldn’t Either

Most christians in today’s world couldn’t tell you why they do or do not celebrate this day that has become known as Halloween. It’s important to know what you believe though, and in this post I got a chance to share that with you all.

Is The Confederate Flag Racist?

The Confederate Flag continues to be a hot topic in our nation. I am proud of my Confederate heritage. Some would question why. My answer is always the same—there’s nothing to be ashamed of over it. As I always say though, don’t just take my word for it! Do research on your own concerning it. As I said in this post, “Go with an open mind to the pages of history, and let it write its story on your heart.”

What Was the Significance of the Swaddling Clothes?

This was a super fun one to do for the month of December. I think there is so much rich history surrounding Christ’s birth that a lot of people overlook. The significance of the swaddling clothes was just one of those things. Overall I enjoyed doing the research for this post.

There you have it, folks! The top five posts of the year. Thank you to all of you for sticking with me on this journey. I am excited to see where it takes me this year and hope you will come along for the ride.

Again, if you haven’t filled out the form up above I would really love it if you would. If you haven’t yet subscribed, I’d love to have you join me on this crazy journey Seeking The Timeless Anchor.

Happy New Year to each one of you! As we move forward in this coming year—clean and new with no mistakes—may we seek to please God with every aspect of our lives. A new chapter of history is being written. What will you write on its pages?
